Service and measurement

SkinCube is a skin measurement service for institutions. It measures skin condition with sensors and lets you manage and review the results on the web. Values measured with the device (main unit and handset) are saved to the server, and you can view measurement records, trends and reports on this website.

It is used by institutions such as clinics and beauty shops, and accounts are issued by the Institution Admin.

  • Moisture — the moisture level on the skin surface
  • Transepidermal water loss (TEWL) — the amount of water evaporating from the skin, an indicator of skin barrier condition
  • Sebum — skin oil collected with a sebum film
  • Skin tone (ITA) — a skin tone index related to pigmentation
  • Elasticity — how well the skin returns after being pressed

If you also take a face photo, the results of the pore, wrinkle, pigmentation and dark circle analysis are shown in the report as well. Taking a photo is optional and can be skipped.

No. SkinCube is a measurement device for measuring skin condition and analyzing data. It cannot be used to diagnose, treat, alleviate or prevent disease, and the results are reference information, not a medical judgment. If you have a skin problem or suspect a medical condition, consult a doctor or other professional.

Measured values vary with skin condition and the measurement environment. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Wash your hands and cleanse your face with a facial cleanser.
  2. Remove any cosmetics or oil, then wait at least 30 minutes so your skin can settle.
  3. Remove any foreign matter from the probe, and give the moisture probe a light shake.
  4. Wipe the probe sensor with a dry cloth or an alcohol swab.
  5. Press the probe firmly against the measurement site, then press the M button on the handset.

  • Areas with wounds or inflammation, areas right after a treatment, or areas with severe breakouts
  • The eyes and mucous membranes
  • Right after cosmetic surgery or a skin treatment (please avoid use)

If the Subject reports pain or discomfort during measurement, stop immediately.

Each item takes anywhere from a few seconds to about 20 seconds. Moisture takes the longest because transepidermal water loss is calculated along with it. The total time depends on whether a face photo is taken and how the session is run.

While a measurement is in progress, the device screen shows in real time how the value is being produced. The display differs by item, and when the measurement ends the result value is shown together with its position on the score scale. If you try to leave in the middle of a measurement, a confirmation window tells you there is a measurement that has not been saved.

Please follow your institution’s recommended schedule. To compare changes, keep the resting time after cleansing, the measurement site and the environment as consistent as possible. As records accumulate, you can see changes in the trend graphs, which appear once there are at least two measurements.

No. Taking a photo is optional, and you can move on with “Skip” on the screen. When the photo is taken, just keep your eyes closed and stay still. The photo is uploaded to the server and used for face analysis. See the Privacy Policy for details on how it is handled.

This is a classification based on two axes — moisture–sebum and pigmentation–elasticity — compared against the same age group. The four types are Sirius, Taurus, Atlas and Remus. These are brand names, so they are shown as they are in every language.

Reports and sharing

After logging in, select a Subject in Records to see their measurement list and reports. Results are stored on the server of the institution linked to your account, so you can check them on the web at any time, not only on the device.

Yes. Press the PDF download button on the report screen and the report is turned into a PDF exactly as it appears on screen. You can get it in Korean, English or Vietnamese, in the format your institution has chosen — medical or beauty.

You can share a report with its QR code or link. Anyone who receives the link can view the report without logging in. By default the link expires after 24 hours; if the Institution Admin turns on “permanent sharing”, it does not expire.

※Anyone who has the link can view the report, so share it only within the scope you explained to the Subject. If a link is leaked, the Institution Admin can turn off permanent sharing or reissue the link, and the previous link stops working immediately.

The chart ID, gender, birth year and age, institution name, measurement results, face analysis images, cosmetic recommendations and the institution’s notice are shown. The ID and name of the staff member who ran the measurement are not shown.

If you have view permission, you can use export. Lists of Subjects, accounts and devices can be downloaded as Excel or CSV, measurement data as a bundle containing Excel and raw data (including a face analysis results sheet), and face analysis images as a compressed file. Original face photos cannot be downloaded. There is a limit on how much can be downloaded at one time.

Ingredients and products are selected from our own ingredient database based on age, gender, skin type, measured values, and the season, temperature and humidity at the time of measurement, and AI writes the explanation. This is reference information and does not guarantee the effectiveness or safety of any product.

In the report settings under the Admin menu, the Institution Admin can choose which sections appear in the institution’s report and in what order, and can set the institution’s notice.

Accounts and security

There is no separate sign-up. When the Institution Admin creates your account, a password setup link is sent to your registered email, and it is valid for 24 hours. If the link has expired, ask the Institution Admin to send it again.

On the login screen, use “Forgot password” and enter your ID, email and name, and we will send you a reset link. If the information you enter does not match several times, you will be temporarily blocked for 1 hour for security.

RoleWhat they can do
Institution AdminManage the institution’s accounts, devices and report settings; set up permanent sharing; manage Subjects and measurement data (including deletion); view the institution’s activity log
OperatorRegister and edit Subjects, perform measurements, view measurement data and edit notes

The available features differ slightly between provider institutions (distributors) and measurement institutions.

No. Each institution can see only the Subjects and measurement results registered to that institution. Even a parent institution (provider institution) cannot see the measurement data of its sub-institutions; it can only manage their sub-institutions, accounts, devices and report settings.

Measured values and the measurement date and time, device and operator are kept exactly as measured by the measurement device and cannot be edited on the web. Notes can be edited by Institution Admins and Operators.

If a measurement was taken incorrectly, an Institution Admin can delete that measurement data and you can measure again. Deleting removes the values together with the face photo and analysis images, cannot be undone, and is recorded in the activity log. A Subject that still has measurement data cannot be deleted, so delete the measurement data first.

※Demo data used for demonstrations can be edited. If real measurement data must be corrected, please contact support.

Yes. While logged in, when you download a list, a measurement bundle, face analysis images or a report PDF, delete a Subject or measurement data, or when an account is withdrawn, it is recorded in the “activity log”. It records who downloaded how many records, when, and under what conditions, or which records were deleted, and the record cannot be edited or deleted.

An Institution Admin can view their institution’s records on the activity log tab of the Admin menu. Records are kept for 400 days and then deleted.

  1. After logging in, choose “Withdraw account” on the My Account screen.
  2. Review the notice, enter your current password, and confirm the withdrawal.

※Withdrawal cannot be undone. The last Institution Admin of an institution cannot withdraw on their own, so assign another Institution Admin first or contact support. An Institution Admin cannot withdraw staff members; to have a staff member’s account withdrawn, please ask support.

When you withdraw, your name, email, phone number and login ID are deleted so you can no longer be identified, and you can no longer log in. Only non-identifying information such as institution affiliation and role remains.

The Subjects and measurement data you registered or measured are the institution’s records, so they are not deleted and remain as they are. The author of those records is shown only as “Withdrawn user” or “-”.

A Subject’s information is a record managed by the institution. When the Subject asks the institution to delete it, an Institution Admin can delete the measurement data and the Subject directly on the management screen, and support assists if needed. For the detailed procedure, see “Rights of data subjects” in the Privacy Policy.

A measurement institution account can be used on only one device at a time. When you log in on another device, the session on the device you were using earlier is ended.

Using the device and troubleshooting

  1. Connect the power adapter (12V 5A, purchased separately) to the back of the main unit.
  2. Turn on the power switch on the back to the “I” position.
  3. Press and hold the front power button for 1 second to turn it on. The app starts automatically; if a Wi-Fi connection window appears, follow the instructions to connect.
  4. Turn the handset on by pressing its power button for 3 seconds, attach a probe, and check that READY appears on the LCD.

The handset charges automatically when placed on the cradle of the main unit. Measurement methods and how to read the results are available in the online manual.

DisplayMeaningWhat to do
NO MODULEThe probe is not attached or not recognizedRemove the probe and reattach it all the way. If it continues, try a different probe.
INIT FAILSensor initialization failedWait a moment and it will retry automatically. If it continues, turn the power off and on again; if it keeps happening, contact support.

  • Check that the handset is turned on.
  • Move it close to the main unit and try again.
  • Check that it is not connected to another device.

The device supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, not 5GHz. It also does not support public Wi-Fi that shows a separate login page after you connect (captive portals). Measurement results are saved to the server, so an internet connection is required. If the connection drops during a measurement, the results are saved automatically once it is restored.

  • If the sensor comes off the skin during a measurement, the measurement stops. Press the probe firmly against the skin and measure again.
  • Elasticity is calculated only when the probe is pressed firmly enough. If it cannot be calculated, the value is not saved and you are asked to measure again.
  • For sebum, do not touch the blue collection surface of the sebum film, and replace any film that was touched or dropped with a new one.

  • After measuring, wipe the probe sensor with a dry cloth or an alcohol swab and let it dry.
  • Clean the probe and dry it completely each time the Subject changes.
  • Use one sebum film per person and discard it after use.
  • Do not spray liquid directly onto the probe sensor.

Subjects’ face photos remain on the device for up to 30 days and are then deleted automatically. Before transferring, returning or disposing of it, delete the data with Settings > Reset device and ask support to unlink the device from your institution. Reset data cannot be recovered, and measurement data stored on the server remains in the institution’s account. Do not throw electrical and electronic products out with household waste, and dispose of the handset battery separately or ask support to collect it.
